
Dog Diversity Professional Dog Grooming Training School offers one-on-one* expert training with qualified, professional dog grooming instructors. This course has been developed to give students the ‘basics’ in dog grooming. This salon-based, hands-on course, is ideal for students who wish to enter the dog grooming world.
At the completion of the course, students will have a basic understanding of the following topics:
- Canine anatomy
- How to successfully handle dogs
- Canine stress, what to watch out for, sensitive grooming areas
- Set-up equipment
- Maintenance of equipment
- Preparation procedures – pre-bathing
- Body, face, tail, feet and ear clipping
- Blade uses and clipping techniques
- Safe nail-clipping
- Ear-plucking
- Breed identification and style clips
- Grooming out and de-matting techniques
- Clipping and scissoring techniques
- Bathing and drying techniques
- Customer service, understanding the clients’ needs
- Time saving ideas
- Shampoo and canine skin education

Doggy Dooz DIY Grooming DVDs edition one and two, ‘The Theory of Five’ by Melissa Verplank – a step-by-step book on the basics of grooming manual. This manual contains all our current contacts for products and support as well as useful tips and guides for setting up a salon or mobile van. A training manual that provides you with information on running a successful dog grooming business.
